Do you want to answer that call?

Have you ever thought about running a trail marathon?

Fleet Feet Rochester and Yellow Jacket Racing produce the  premier trail marathon in the region.

The Sehgahunda Trail Marathon and Relay!

The event is Saturday May 26th, 2012 in Letchworth State Park.

( by the way it is pronounced Say-Ga-Hunda)

The TrailsROC crew will be participating and representing hardcore in this awesome event of our own accord, but we wanted to let you know some opportunities that Yellow Jacket Racing is putting on.

Yellow Jacket Racing is hosting 4 preview runs on the course. These preview runs can give you an idea of what the race entails.

There is an option of parking and running an out and back , or there is the option of running 1 direction and catching a shuttle back to your car.

Below are the details provided by Yellow Jacket Racing for the preview runs.

“””Preview Runs begin at 9AM at the beginning of the leg being previewed on River Rd.  All legs have the option to do an “out and back” or one way (we will have chauffeur service for the one-way folks).

  • Sunday, March 25th – Leg 1
    • Run #1 will begin at Mount Morris Dam. Distance is 6.1 miles. There is parking at the dam.
    • For those who would like to carpool or caravan with the Endurance Team, we will be leaving Fleet Feet at 7:45 AM. Be sure to park on the side of the building, not in front so as to take up spots for customers.
  • Saturday, April 7th – Leg 2
    • We’re meeting at Relay Checkpoint 1 on River Road, between Nunda Rd & Ridge Rd. It’s a bit hard to find if you’re just driving by, but the team & associated cars will be there.  This leg is approximately 9.3 Miles. No parking lot, just next-to-rd parking. It’s marked as Relay #1 on this map: http://www.yellowjacketracing.com/files/user/Sehgahunda_North_Map_Final.pdf
    • If you want to carpool meet at Fleet Feet Sports in Brighton by 7:30AM. The caravan leaves at 7:45AM
  • Sunday, April 15th – Leg 3
    • START at Checkpoint 3 (Relay #2) – where the “out” portion of Preview Run #2 finished. Meet on River Road between Picket Line Rd. and Crossover Rd. There is a blue-blazed trail-head marked #22. Look for the team & associated cars. It’s a bit hard to find if you’re just driving by, but the team & associated cars will be there.  This leg is approximately 6.5 Miles long. No parking lot, just next-to-rd parking. It’s marked as Relay #2 on this map: http://www.yellowjacketracing.com/files/user/Sehgahunda_South_Map_Final.pdf
    • If you want to carpool meet at Fleet Feet Sports in Brighton by 7:30AM. The caravan leaves at 7:45AM

    • More info coming soon!”””
We would love to see you all out on the trails and hope you consider running one of the events with us, either the relay or the full. Check out YellowJacketRacing.com for more information.

Preview Run 1 was awesome… everything it was cracked up to be, plently of mud, roots, rocks, and streams. In short, this will be an awesome trail run!
