#TrailsRoc, the Rochester, New York Trail Running Club, was born on an idea and a dream. “How is it possible that the Rochester and Finger Lakes Region has such world class trail running and yet…there’s no website collecting all the information in one place and promoting trail running?” trailsroc.org was created, and now we offer maps of all these great trails in the palm of your hand.

#TrailsRoc offers maps of over 200 miles of trails in the region. You can browse and navigate in real time, while enjoying the beauty of the trails without the worry of referring to that hard copy of the map.

This app is awesome! It’s so great to have mobile source to access the maps, trail heads, etc. while you are in the trails.
I do wish there was a tab in the app that you can check off when you have completed a trail and also review it on terrain, scenery, popularity, etc.

This looks like it will be a good app to have. However, after I downloaded it to my phone it, I let it go for an hour and it kept giving me the “Updating Map…” message. I have location services turned on for the app and tried all the simple fixes like quitting and relaunching and hard reboot. no luck.
    I’m using an iPhone X with SW v. 13.5 (17F75).

Hi Emma – We have not heard from anyone else regarding this – Have you run the most recent updates on the app and your phone? You can also try deleting it and reinstalling the newer version if you prefer.

      Hope this helps

This app has been so wonderful as I’ve been exploring new trails in the ROC area during these crazy times! Question- is there a way to help contribute to the app? There are trails I would love to see added, especially some that are out of Monroe County (ex. Genesee County Park, some DEC state forests, Letchworth) that would definitely be of interest to the Rochester Community.

Yep – says it right here “Know a good trail that is not in our database? Send us your GPX data and allow others to share that trail with you. Email tech@trailsroc.org with your feedback or GPX files.”

Hi – I am having trouble accessing park and trail information from my Android device. The app says “Under Construction” when I navigate to “Browse”. Are you aware of the issue? My iPhone using friend isn’t having any trouble.

We are aware. That part isn’t working on Android yet. We’re having some technical difficulties with Google right now, and as soon as those are overcome the park/trail information is next on the list.
